An update from the drafting table:

These butterfly shadowboxes show up in thrift stores every once in a while - but in this case, like many of them, they’re completely wrecked.  Usually everything is just in a pile in the bottom of the box because the arrangement has come undone and the butterflies are usually in pieces.  I found this one yesterday and couldn’t pass it up.

I love the boxes with the glass backing, and this one has an amazing bowed glass front (hard to tell from the picture perhaps).  Trusty knife and hot glue gun in hand, my dumb, cold hands only manage to destroy one butterfly in the process, but that’s what you get when trying to do delicate work before your heat has come on for the season.  2 dollars well spent!
